(H) 446-460: Gracey, Kindergarten as Academic Boot Camp

Education has came a long way and has changed a lot. After reading this chapter I really do think Kindergarten is like a boot camp because this is where they start to teach kids education and they learn how to act with other human beings. Also they learn a lot more of modern society. Like for example they see hoe a teacher is teaching them and how it is a job for her etc. I think eduction and schooling teaches a lot of modern life and how life is. Kids will either continue school or just work for the rest of their lives.

(H) 470-480: Hunt, Police Accounts of Normal Force

This article made me really think about how the police act in real life. A lot of people don’t like the police because they are just bad new and give out fines. In this chapter it talks about how the police are taught in the academy and how they come put to a real life situation it isn’t the same. So I think this is really hard and they learn how to act as they come out into the real world.

(H) 322- 334: Rosenhan, On Being Sane in Insane Places

What is considered insane? I think reading this article everyone has a different opinion on what they think insane is. Insane people are the ones who need help when they have problems in their mind. I think that insane is a word that over exaggerates on people who need help. Overall, people are not insane they just have problems.

(H) 315 -321: Zimbardo, The Pathology of Imprisonment

Prison is a place that is just horrible to go to. The system is so cruel and just not right. Yeah I get that people need to be in there because they have done horrible things but they are still human beings and need to be treated right as well. Basically the prisoners own that prison not the other way around. Its like going to someones house you never been to you are not going to start bossing them around because it’s not your house. So therefore it is the same for prisons yeah they have time limits but at the end of the day thats their house. You can’t really change the people and what they are going to do but they can show more caring people and lead them to a right path.

(H) 277-286: Henslin, Eating Your Friends is the Hardest

This story is a great way to explain human society. It is as simple at the norms that the Andres survivors made up. First on one had to eat human flesh and no one would force them. It is their choice and that has to do with today in society everyone has choices. Second some bodies where off limits. In today society there are limits and rules we need to follow in everyday life. Third the meat was rationed. In todays society everything is rationed. Lastly, the meat was distributed according to an orderly system. Again in today society everything is made for different people. This all explains human life and reality is socially constructed.

(H) 425-431: Coontz, The American Family

The America family is looked as a nice happy family. In reality it is not there are a lot more divorces and single woman not wanting to have a family. There is a lot of more opportunities today than there was back then. Also changes are happening in life and how things are seen so some people grow up in a family that isn’t good so they don’t want a family. Or people can see it as to have a family and have a connection different from when they were younger.

(H) 341- 348: Katz, The Importance of being Beautiful

In this chapter we look at all the ranks in life and how people feel beautiful. In the early life kids are lovable then once they hit interaction at school they go crazy and fight. At schools teacher look at their students and can tell if they are going to be good or bad kids. The college life they are looked at as the successful and gonna be something big in life. When it comes to dating they are looked at all the time and goes off looks and that shouldn’t they should be looking at their success. People should feel beautiful with themselves no matter what and love will come once you love yourself first.
