(H) 135-146: Goffman, The Presentation of the Self in Everyday Life

Goffman really had me thinking at the beginning of this chapter. Like what, is this really true, are we human begins good actors and don’t know our real self? He said we act different around friends, family, home, school, while on a date, while shopping etc. This does make me question human behavior because like we really do act different around different people and places. So like do we know who really are if we act different. Overall Goffman explains situation of how when someone enters the room you will look at them and they will react on how you look at them. Overall, the individual will have many ways to control their impression they receive from the situation. This is so true because you will react to how other people are looking at you and also how the environment is in that situation.
